About The Position

Join the team at Chris Auffenberg Auto Group as a Service Writer in Carbondale, IL. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to serve as the key liaison between our customers and the service department. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently managing service orders, communicating with customers about their vehicle needs, and ensuring a seamless service experience. We are looking for a very outgoing person to assist in leading our very fast paced service drive. A Service Advisor candidate at Auffenberg of Carbondale will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, ensuring a smooth and efficient service process for customers bringing in their vehicles for maintenance or repairs. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, able to follow up with customers on service recommendations, and thrive in a fast paced environment.  Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team are essential for success in this role

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training is a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused attitude.
  • Basic understanding of automotive technology and repair processes.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and service management software.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous experience in an automotive service environment is preferred but not required.
  • Driver's License (Required) W/ clean driving record

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers promptly and courteously, providing exceptional customer service throughout their visit.
  • Accurately document vehicle issues and service requests, ensuring clear communication between customers and technicians.
  • Prepare service estimates and explain recommended repairs and maintenance.
  • Coordinate service schedules to maximize efficiency and minimize customer wait times.
  • Maintain detailed records of all service interactions and transactions.
  • Work collaboratively with service technicians to monitor repair progress and update customers accordingly.
