About The Position

The Service Writer is a critical link between the customer and technician, responsible for ensuring a complete understanding of services rendered, keeping the customer informed, and accurately processing repair orders. This role also involves advising customers on additional services and their benefits. A key aspect of this role is enhancing the customer experience by assisting in evaluating supplier relationships, analyzing buying opportunities, and creating programs to achieve savings. The Service Writer collaborates effectively with the parts department, administrative staff, and technicians.

Requirements

  • 1 year minimum previous Service Advisor/Writer experience.
  • Must pass pre-employment Fit for Duty test.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
  • Mechanically inclined.
  • Proven track record of success in sales.
  • Software and Management Reporting expertise in achieving metrics and mastering processes.

Nice To Haves

  • Service Advisor/Writer preferred skills and experience in construction and/or industrial industries.
  • Bachelor’s degree or sufficient experience.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with the customer to ensure complete understanding of services rendered.
  • Keep the customer informed with necessary information based on service.
  • Accurately verify warranty and service contracts.
  • Prepare and process Repair Orders accurately, including all costs, deductibles, and descriptions of symptoms.
  • Advise customers on additional needed services and explain all benefits.
  • Assist in evaluating supplier relationships.
  • Analyze central buying opportunities.
  • Help create programs to harvest savings.
  • Collaborate with the parts department on sourcing parts.
  • Collaborate with administrative staff for accurate customer billing.
  • Collaborate with technicians who perform all mechanical services.
