Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience in a service writer, advisor, or similar customer-facing role.
  • Solid understanding of basic mechanical or technical concepts.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment and provide top-tier customer service.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in automotive or equipment services is a plus.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a service writing or customer service role, preferably within the automotive or equipment industry.
  • Proven track record of managing service orders and coordinating with technicians to ensure timely completion of work.
  • Experience in using service management software and tools for tracking and reporting purposes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with customers and team members.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work efficiently.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and service management software.
  • Ability to understand and explain technical information to customers in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to address customer concerns and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in documentation and reporting.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with powersports or lawn & garden equipment (preferred)
  • Experience with Lightspeed/CDK a plus
  • Experience with dealership software such as Lightspeed or CDK (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly and gather vehicle/equipment information at check-in.
  • Schedule service appointments and manage daily work flow.
  • Accurately document customer concerns and needed services on repair orders.
  • Communicate clearly with technicians to ensure correct diagnosis and service.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and obtain customer authorizations for work.
  • Stay in contact with customers regarding status, estimates, and completion timelines.
  • Review and close repair orders, ensuring all work is completed and documented.
  • Explain completed repairs and charges to customers at time of pick-up.
  • Cashiering of customer payment for services rendered.
  • Coordinate with Centralized Warranty Administrator to convey accurate coverage to customers
  • Maintain organized customer records and assist with warranty documentation.
