About The Position

Fountain Tire Grande Prairie is looking for an experienced Commercial Tire Technician to operate a Tire Service Truck. This role is for a team player dedicated to providing top-notch service, ready to tackle any tire or task.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of Farm, OTR, or Commercial tire experience
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to provide a satisfactory passenger or commercial Driver’s Abstract
  • Customer service focus with the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with team members and customers; this includes good communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in unpredictable, wet, cold, windy conditions
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision; this includes organization, time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated initiative in recognizing opportunities for improvement and efficiency.
  • Basic computer skills to successfully complete required learning and safety courses and achieve certification where required.
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions and ability to excel in a physically demanding environment that demands consistently lifting
  • Ability to be on call after hours
  • Ability to lift up to 35 kilograms if required

Nice To Haves

  • A high school diploma or GED is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Install, balance, rotate and repair tires as directed by customer work order in a safe and efficient manner; this includes ensuring all tires and wheels are inspected for correct inflation, wear patterns, tread depth and damage as per inspection form and documented accordingly, and adhering to required torque specifications.
  • Complete assigned eLearning courses (and required skills demonstration forms) including Tire Industry Association (TIA103, 203, 303, 403, 603 and 703), WHMIS, Customer Experience Standards, and other courses with a passing grade; this includes completing recertification when required, and adhering to standards and policies as described in learning modules.
  • Complete full process of service work order, which includes taking initial service call, customer contact and billing information, ensuring all products and services are billed accurately, etc.
  • Reset and repair tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS)
  • Maintain tire service equipment on a regularly scheduled basis; this includes tire balancing equipment, tire changing equipment, compressors/air equipment, and hydraulic
  • Deliver customer tire maintenance program by visiting assigned locations to complete fleet checks, etc.
  • Complete specialty tire work which could include studding, syping, calcium, regroove, retread, foam fill, run flat, etc.
  • Ensure all equipment, tools and supplies are returned in good working condition to proper location, immediately reporting any concerns or damaged equipment or tools to Supervisor for repair or replacement.
  • Operate company and customer vehicles in a clean and safe manner; this includes having the appropriate vehicle license, using proper barriers to maintain vehicle cleanliness, and ensuring equipment and loads in company vehicles are safely secured for transportation.
  • Assist in inventory management through documentation processes and annual inventory counts.
  • Participate in all safety initiatives, as required or assigned, to guarantee safety at Fountain Tire.
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned.
