About The Position

The Service Technician is accountable for performing the duties and responsibilities described below. This role involves comprehensive diagnostic inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on various recreational vehicles (RVs). Responsibilities include servicing LP/propane gas systems, electrical systems (12V DC / 120V AC), plumbing, water heaters, sanitation equipment, and interior mechanical systems such as HVAC units, furnaces, refrigerators, slide-out mechanisms, and power awnings. The technician will also perform structural, carpentry, roofing, and body maintenance, ensuring weatherproofing and seal integrity. A key part of the role is conducting pre-delivery inspections (PDI) for new and used RVs, executing routine maintenance, and ensuring adherence to safety and environmental guidelines. Administrative tasks include documenting work performed in the dealer management system, collaborating with Service Advisors and Parts Managers, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive diagnostic inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on recreational vehicles (motorhomes, travel trailers, fifth wheels, and pop-up campers).
  • Inspect, repair, and service LP/propane gas systems, 12V DC / 120V AC electrical systems, plumbing, water heaters, and sanitation equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair interior mechanical systems, including HVAC units, furnaces, absorption/residential refrigerators, slide-out mechanisms, and power awnings.
  • Perform structural, carpentry, roofing, and body maintenance, ensuring weatherproofing and seal integrity across exterior seals and seams.
  • Conduct pre-delivery inspections (PDI) on new and used RV inventory to verify all features, appliances, and safety systems function to manufacturer specifications.
  • Execute routine maintenance tasks, winterization, and spring prep services for customer vehicles.
  • Ensure strict adherence to OSHA, dealer safety protocols, and industry environmental guidelines when handling hazardous materials and tools.
  • Accurately document all work performed, repair steps, labor hours, and parts used on service repair orders (ROs) within the dealer management system.
  • Work collaboratively with Service Advisors and Parts Managers to estimate labor time, source necessary replacement parts, and update customers on job status.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work bay, ensuring all shop tools and diagnostic equipment are properly cared for.
