About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Service Technician in Saint Louis, Missouri, to provide preventative and emergency maintenance and repairs on water dispensing cabinets. The technician builds positive relationships with customers and store management through effective communication and service delivery, and provides excellent customer service.

The work includes proactive maintenance, troubleshooting, water sampling, and repairs. The technician must be available for occasional emergency calls during regular or off-business hours, with an expectation of reaching the site within 24–48 hours or sooner for urgent situations. This is an on-call, as-needed 1099 independent contractor position with compensation of at least $45–$55 per hour, based on experience, and no benefits.

Requirements

• Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and mechanical equipment.
• Professionalism and excellent time-management skills, with the ability to work independently and responsibly.
• Own a smartphone and be proficient in using email for communication and reporting.
• Be physically able to bend and squat and, if needed, climb stairs or ladders.
• Communicate effectively in English.
• Provide own transportation and tools for on-site visits.
• Be at least 18 years old.
• Pass a background check as a condition of a job offer.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain positive relationships with customers and store management through effective communication and service delivery.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Perform preventative maintenance, including filter replacements, UV lamp installations, battery changes, and equipment upgrades.
• Troubleshoot equipment by reading and reporting pressure gauges and flow meters, detecting leaks, using multimeters, and conducting water sampling tests.
• Perform repairs such as fixing leaks, tightening fittings, and replacing valves, fittings, tubing, electrical wires, and components.
• Respond to occasional emergency service calls, including calls during regular or off-business hours, and reach the site within 24–48 hours or sooner for urgent situations.
• Complete and submit required paperwork on time for payment processing.
