About The Position

The Service Technician provides preventative and emergency maintenance and repairs on water dispensing cabinets in Philadelphia, PA. The role involves customer-facing service, equipment troubleshooting and repair, and completing required paperwork. Work is on call as needed, and occasional emergency calls may occur during regular or off-business hours. The company aims to have a technician onsite within 24–48 hours or sooner for urgent situations. This is a 1099 independent contractor position with no benefits, paying $45–$55 per hour minimum based on experience.

Requirements

• Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and mechanical equipment.
• Professionalism and excellent time-management skills, with the ability to work independently and responsibly.
• Own a smartphone and be proficient in using email for communication and reporting.
• Ability to bend and squat, and, if needed, climb stairs or ladders.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Provide own transportation and tools for onsite visits.
• Be at least 18 years old.
• Pass a background check; job offers are contingent on its results.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain positive relationships with customers and store management through effective communication and service delivery.
• Provide excellent customer service to ensure a satisfying client experience.
• Perform preventative maintenance, including filter replacements, UV lamp installations, battery changes, and equipment upgrades.
• Troubleshoot equipment by reading and reporting pressure gauges and flow meters, detecting leaks, using multimeters, and conducting water sampling tests.
• Repair equipment issues, including leaks, fittings, valves, tubing, electrical wires, and components.
• Be available for occasional emergency service calls, including during regular or off-business hours.
• Complete and submit required paperwork on time for payment processing.
