About The Position

This Service Technician position serves the territory of Southeastern California and Western Arizona. The person in this position services and maintains emergency responder and fire rescue equipment within an assigned territory. This position includes regular contact with customers and consistent effective communication with L.N. Curtis & sons team members. The successful candidate will be expected to represent the Company and our manufacturers in a neat, orderly and professional manner. This role requires regular travel away from home consistently and for extended periods, and maintaining long work hours. A valid driving record meeting insurance provider requirements is essential.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical schematic diagrams.
  • Working knowledge of basic electrical theory.
  • Mechanically inclined and technically competent.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite; Outlook, Excel and Word.
  • Capable of safely lifting and operating equipment weighing 75lbs.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in sales or marketing related field.
  • Special people skills to deal with customers.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Proven attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively via both verbal and written means.
  • Demonstrated good judgement and a high degree of integrity.
  • Must live in or be willing to relocate near Southeastern CA and Western AZ. Counties to include Mohave, La Paz, Yuma, Pima, Santa Cruz (AZ), Imperial, Riverside, and San Bernadino.

Responsibilities

  • Provide our fire department customers the highest levels of customer care.
  • Clean, service and repair intricate breathing apparatus and compressor systems.
  • Service and repair hydraulic extrication equipment.
  • Schedule appointments; meet with customers in order to review customer needs, product and service requirements, and to determine other opportunities for a successful relationship.
  • Effectively plan and conduct presentations by meeting customers face-to-face on a regular basis.
  • Design and implement professional demonstrations or presentations of company products and services.
  • Execute information exchange with customers on products and services with objective of assisting customers with their requirements.
  • Generate and develop new opportunities for sale of our products and services.
  • Enhance up-to-date knowledge on new products, procedures, services and tools.
  • Travel away from home consistently and for extended periods.
  • Successfully maintain long work hours.
  • Maintain an excellent driving record that meets requirements of our insurance provider.
  • Perform general administrative duties, including the timely preparation and submission of monthly expense and mileage reports, as well as other administrative tasks as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.
