About The Position

Nye Ford is seeking a motivated and dependable Entry-Level Service Technician to join our growing service department. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to start or continue their automotive career in a dealership environment while learning from an experienced team. In this role, you’ll assist with routine maintenance and basic repair work while receiving hands-on training and opportunities for career advancement through Ford training programs.

Requirements

Ability to commute to 1479 Genesee St, Oneida, NY 13421 (required)
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Previous automotive experience, technical school training, or personal mechanical experience preferred
Willingness to learn and grow in the automotive industry
Strong work ethic and attention to detail
Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair is a plus

Nice To Haves

NY State Inspector License is a plus
ASE certifications are a plus, or willingness to work toward certification

Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance services including oil changes, tire rotations, battery replacements, fluid checks, and basic brake services
Assist experienced technicians with vehicle inspections, diagnostics, and repairs
Complete multi-point vehicle inspections and document findings accurately
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Test-drive vehicles when necessary under dealership guidelines
Follow manufacturer recommendations, dealership standards, and safety procedures
Use dealership tools and equipment properly and responsibly
Communicate effectively with service advisors and team members
Continue developing technical skills through Ford and dealership training programs
