About The Position

The Service Technician is responsible for completing service requests, ensuring resident satisfaction, and maintaining make-ready standards. This role involves troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing issues in apartment homes and buildings, preparing vacant units for leasing, and assisting in maintaining the grounds and common areas to high curb appeal standards. The technician will also complete preventative maintenance tasks, participate in snow removal, and share in emergency call rotations. A key aspect of the role is ensuring the successful execution of company operations policies and procedures and delivering high levels of resident satisfaction through professional interactions. Some weekend, evening, and on-call shifts may be required.

Requirements

  • Two years experience as a maintenance technician and/or training.
  • High School or GED required.
  • General building maintenance experience including any combination of the following: apartment turnover, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance repair, carpentry, construction.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • A strong desire to continually improve technical skills.
  • The ability to safely use small hand tools and power tools.
  • The ability to stay well organized, detailed, and efficient in a fast-paced environment.
  • A valid state-issued driver's license with safe driving record and a reliable form of transportation.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to frequently lift, carry and move items weighing up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
  • Must be able to withstand prolonged standing and repetitive activities, to include but not limited to walking, climbing, bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, and kneeling.
  • Regularly uses hands to manipulate tools, machinery, equipment, and supplies.

  • Trade School or Industry Training is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair service issues in apartment homes and buildings.

  • Assist in maintaining grounds, common areas, and amenities to highest curb appeal standards.
  • Complete preventative maintenance tasks and inspections as directed.
  • Participate in snow removal efforts.
  • Share in emergency call rotation.
  • Ensuring the successful execution of all company operations policies and procedures.
