About The Position

The Service Technician role is responsible for maintaining the quality living environment for residents. This includes troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing service issues in apartment homes and buildings, preparing vacant apartments for leasing, and assisting in maintaining grounds and common areas. The position also involves completing preventative maintenance tasks, participating in snow removal, and sharing in emergency call rotations. A key aspect of the role is ensuring resident satisfaction through responsive and professional interactions. Some weekend, evening, and on-call shifts may be required. The job involves physical demands such as lifting up to 50 lbs, prolonged standing, and repetitive activities. Work is performed in various interior, exterior, and mechanical locations within a residential apartment community, with frequent interaction with residents and the team. Driving a personal vehicle on property may be necessary.

Requirements

  • Two years experience as a maintenance technician and/or training.
  • High School or GED required.
  • General building maintenance experience including any combination of the following: apartment turnover, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance repair, carpentry, construction
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • A strong desire to continually Improve technical skills
  • The ability to safely use small hand tools and power tools
  • The ability to stay well organized, detailed, and efficient in a fast-paced environment
  • A valid state-issued driver's license with safe driving record and a reliable form of transportation
  • Must demonstrate the ability to frequently lift, carry and move items weighing up to 50 lbs. without assistance and be able to withstand prolonged standing and repetitive activities, to include but not limited to walking, climbing, bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, and kneeling. Regularly uses hands to manipulate tools, machinery, equipment, and supplies.

Responsibilities

  • Service request completion stats, resident satisfaction surveys, make ready standards.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair service issues in apartment homes and buildings.
  • Prepare vacant apartment homes for leasing and new move-ins.
  • Assists in maintaining grounds, common areas, and amenities to highest curb appeal standards.
  • Complete preventative maintenance tasks and inspections as directed.
  • Participate in snow removal efforts.
  • Share in emergency call rotation.
  • Ensuring the successful execution of all company operations policies and procedures.
  • Delivering the highest level of resident satisfaction through responsive, consistent, positive, and professional interactions.
