About The Position

The primary responsibility of the Service Technician is to diagnose, adjust, repair, or overhaul machinery and vehicles. This role involves reassembling machines and equipment after repair, testing operations, and making necessary adjustments. The technician will maintain, repair, and overhaul farm machinery and vehicles such as tractors, harvesters, and irrigation systems. Responsibilities also include recording details of repairs and parts used, examining and listening to equipment to diagnose malfunctions, and dismantling defective machines for repair. The technician will use diagnostic equipment for diagnosis and ECU reprogramming, prepare parts lists for estimates, communicate with customers regarding repairs, maintain a clean work environment, and continue training to meet OEM requirements.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/ GED
  • 1-2 years of service technician experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel software.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information to management.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written or oral form.

Responsibilities

  • Reassemble machines and equipment following repair, testing operation and making adjustments as necessary.
  • Maintain, repair, and overhaul farm machinery and vehicles, such as tractors, harvesters, and irrigation systems.
  • Record details of repairs made, and parts used.
  • Examine and listen to equipment, read inspection reports, and locate and diagnose malfunctions.
  • Dismantle defective machines for repair, using hand tools.
  • Use diagnostic equipment to properly diagnose and reprogram ECU’s when needed.
  • Prepare list of parts for estimates/orders.
  • Work with service office to keep customers up to date.
  • Maintain a clean work environment.
  • Continue training to meet OEM requirements.
