This position provides field customer service by performing tasks associated with initiating and discontinuing water service, leak investigation, and various customer service functions. The purpose of this position is to provide accurate information for billing of utility services and professional customer service assistance to citizens and business owners, and to perform a variety of maintenance and customer service tasks on residential and commercial water meters. The role also involves communicating with customers, evaluating repairs, responding to inquiries, directing meetings, and ensuring team performs regular vehicle checks. Other duties include changing and replacing meters, evaluating and solving issues with AMI programs, repairing leaks, maintaining supplies and inventory, overseeing vehicle checks, and training new team members. The Service Technician III role also involves installing remote meters, completing small commercial disconnects, and maintaining or installing a DCU, as well as performing water quality tests and routing daily work using navigation sources and prioritization of tickets based on urgency level.
