About The Position

Blossman Gas & Appliance is seeking a Service Technician or Service Apprentice for their new location in Franklin, NC. This is an opportunity to build a career with a stable, established company that is the largest independent propane company in America with over 85 branch locations in 12 states. Service Technicians install propane tanks for residential and commercial customers, and install, service, and maintain gas comfort equipment. Apprentices will learn hands-on from experienced technicians and participate in classroom and online learning. The Service Technician role requires customer service skills, occasional on-call duty, and teamwork. Apprenticeship positions do not require experience but benefit from prior mechanical work, tool use, and a positive attitude. Competitive hourly pay is based on experience. Requirements

Prior propane experience (for Service Technician).
Prior appliance installation/repair experience (for Service Technician).
Prior mechanical experience (for Service Technician).
Customer service skills (for Service Technician).
Prior mechanical work (preferred for Apprentices).
Use of hand tools (preferred for Apprentices).
Commitment to learning a career trade (for Apprentices).
Positive attitude (for Apprentices).
Must live locally in the Franklin / Macon County, NC area.
A strong commitment to safety.

Apprenticeship positions can lead to Service Technician, Senior Service Technician, and Master Technician status once specific education markers are met.

Responsibilities

Install propane tanks for residential and commercial customers.
Install, service, and maintain gas comfort equipment such as water heaters, dryers, ranges/stoves, fireplaces, and generators.
Learn 'hands-on' the work of a Service Technician (for Apprentices).
Participate in classroom and online learning to gain knowledge and experience (for Apprentices).
Provide customer service.
Perform occasional on-call duty.
Be a contributing member of a team environment.
Commit to safety consistent with company policy.
