John Deere Service Technician
About The Position
C & B Operations is hiring a Service Technician for its John Deere dealership in Tracy, Minnesota. The technician performs diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance on customer- and/or dealer-owned agricultural equipment. The role includes completing job documentation and timecards, maintaining product knowledge, keeping work areas and equipment in good condition, and promoting service department offerings to customers. The position requires adherence to safety procedures and may include other assigned duties. Applicants must successfully complete a pre-employment drug test and background check.
Requirements
- Ability to meet the physical demands and duration of exertion generally required for the job, including sitting, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and techniques used to repair machinery, engines, and related equipment.
- Experience with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Critical thinking and resourcefulness to complete tasks.
- Willingness to learn and train in new technologies.
- Ability to work overtime to meet customer demands.
- Valid driver's license and a safe driving record.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test and background check.
Nice To Haves
- Associate degree or better in Diesel Technology or a related field.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics and repairs on agricultural farm equipment.
- Participate in training programs to develop skills and knowledge.
- Complete job notes required for work assignments.
- Record all time on a digital timecard and account for materials used.
- Maintain current product knowledge of John Deere and competitive products.
- Maintain a clean, orderly work area and keep vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment in good condition.
- Promote and sell service department offerings, including service work, inspections, and parts, to increase customer safety and satisfaction.
- Follow safety procedures and work safely.
- Assist with other duties as assigned.
