About The Position

Custom Truck One Source (CTOS) is hiring a Service Technician / Mechanic to assist with the service and upfit of Utility Trucks and Equipment. This includes various types of specialized vehicles such as Boom / Bucket Trucks, Roll-Offs / Refuse trucks, and Tree Trimming / Forestry equipment. The role involves Monday to Friday work from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with the possibility of overtime. Key responsibilities include performing preventative maintenance, service, and repairs on truck chassis, as well as chassis preparation, attaching components, welding, and electrical wiring. The technician will also be expected to read blueprints, work with cylinders, hoses, and PTOs, and utilize electrical wiring knowledge, schematics, multimeters, and CANbus systems. A valid driver's license and personal mechanic tools are required.

Requirements

  • Must have 2+ years of hydraulic experience
  • Truck Chassis PM’s, Service, Repair
  • Chassis Prep, Attaching, Bolting, Welding, Wiring (electrical)
  • Reading blueprints, cylinders, hoses, PTO’s etc.
  • Electrical Wiring, schematics, multimeter, CANbus etc.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license
  • Must have mechanics tools
  • High school diploma or the equivalent
  • Experience with diesel, medium or heavy truck, or related equipment. (construction, farm, military)
  • General mechanical aptitude / knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, construction, farm, or truck
  • Basic Computer skills and ability to document repair activity.
  • Physical effort to move objects and tools; frequent stooping, bending, squatting, and kneeling and a high level of dexterity.

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational Technical School or Military Wheeled Mechanic or related training a plus
  • 3 plus years maintenance and repair of Utility Trucks and Equipment.
  • Vocational Technical School or Military Wheeled Mechanic or related training a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assess, diagnose, repair and/or replace damaged / worn parts on a variety of vocational / utility trucks & equipment.
  • Provide repair and maintenance to medium / heavy duty trucks, and background in hydraulics and electrical.
  • Assess, diagnose, repair and/or replace damaged or worn parts for variety of manufacturers of utility equipment to ensure quality standards are achieved.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records of parts, services and labor to track costs so vehicles can be properly priced and reflect the value of quality offered by the company.
  • Submit all work/repair orders as required to a supervisor for approval to ensure budgets are maintained and costs of vehicle repairs accurately reflected.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with best practices for a safe work environment.
  • Attend monthly safety meetings held by Custom Truck One Source.
  • Other duties as required.
