About The Position

The Service Technician IV completes installation, service, and maintenance work on commercial HVAC systems in commercial and industrial settings. The role requires experience inspecting, repairing, and maintaining HVAC equipment, as well as HVAC system startup and commissioning. Travel is required as needed. The technician also provides field technical support to other technicians and obtains an NCCER Performance Evaluator credential to support learning in the field.

Requirements

• Ability to follow and communicate instructions and directions verbally and in writing.
• Mastery of HVAC components and terminology.
• Experience inspecting, repairing, and maintaining HVAC equipment.
• Experience with HVAC system startup and commissioning.
• Working knowledge of HVAC concepts related to leak detection, evacuation, recovery, charging, heat pumps, and air quality systems.
• Working knowledge of service tools and testing devices.
• High school diploma required.
• EPA certification.
• Valid driver's license.
• Minimum of 5 years of HVAC experience.
• Ability to stand, walk, and sit; talk or hear in person and by telephone; handle or feel objects or controls with the hands and fingers; reach with the hands and arms; and regularly stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Technical school education preferred.
• OSHA 10 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform assigned HVAC maintenance and troubleshooting tasks safely in commercial and industrial settings.
• Service, diagnose, and troubleshoot commercial systems, including packaged rooftops, split systems, boilers, and chillers.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repair commercial HVAC equipment.
• Provide technical support in the field to other technicians.
• Obtain an NCCER Performance Evaluator credential and support learning in the field.
