About The Position

The Service Technician IV completes installation, service, and maintenance on commercial HVAC systems in commercial and industrial settings. The role requires experience inspecting, repairing, and maintaining HVAC equipment, and travel as needed. The technician also provides field support to other technicians and supports learning in the field.

Requirements

• Ability to follow and communicate instructions and directions verbally and in writing.
• Mastery of HVAC components and terminology.
• Experience inspecting, repairing, and maintaining HVAC equipment.
• Experience with HVAC system start-up and commissioning.
• Working knowledge of HVAC concepts related to leak detection, evacuation, recovery, charging, heat pumps, and air quality systems.
• Working knowledge of service tools and testing devices.
• High school diploma required.
• EPA certification required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Minimum of 5 years of HVAC experience required.
• Ability to stand, walk, and sit; talk or hear in person and by telephone; use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms; and regularly stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Technical school education preferred.
• OSHA 10 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform assigned HVAC maintenance and troubleshooting tasks safely in commercial and industrial settings.
• Service, diagnose, and troubleshoot commercial systems, including packaged rooftops, split systems, boilers, and chillers.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repair commercial HVAC equipment.
• Provide technical support in the field to other technicians.
• Obtain an NCCER Performance Evaluator credential and support learning in the field.
