Service Technician - Industrial Machinery
About The Position
KAAST Machine Tools is seeking a hands-on Service Technician to join their team in Schiller Park, IL. This position involves preparing new machines for customer delivery and installation, including uncrating, assembling, inspecting, and testing machinery. The role also includes performing machine demonstrations and operator walkthroughs in the showroom, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues both remotely and on-site, and providing technical support to customers via phone and email. Additionally, the technician will assist with machine installations and startup activities, complete service documentation and inspection reports, and collaborate with customers, sales staff, and service personnel to ensure successful machine deliveries. The position offers a mix of shop-based work and customer-facing responsibilities, with travel typically ranging from 25-35% for customer installations, service visits, industry trade shows, and support for large machinery deliveries.
Requirements
- 2 years experience working with capital Equipment, machine tools, or fabrication equipment
- 2 years experience of industrial electrical systems, including 3-phase power
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read electrical schematics and technical documentation
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Comfortable working in both a shop and customer-facing environment
Responsibilities
