About The Position

The Service/ Warranty Technician is responsible for completing residential electrical work on homes before and after homeowners move in, ensuring all electrical systems are properly functioning in the new home.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in all phases of residential electrical.
  • Electrical trade knowledge for all aspects of residential electrical.
  • Ability to read prints and scale to ensure placement of fixtures, receptacles, switches, etc.
  • Must have their own standard residential electrical tools.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Must have specialty tool use knowledge – i.e. Jack Hammer, Generator, Multimeter, Toner.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be able to read paperwork and fill out necessary information.
  • Must have electrical safety knowledge (Lock Out Tag Out).
  • Must have National Electric Code (NEC) knowledge.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to work On Call schedule on rotation with other service employees.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Completing residential electrical work on homes before and after homeowners move in.
  • Ensuring all electrical is properly functioning in the new home.
  • Handling warranty calls, including troubleshooting and repairing electrical issues.
  • Ensuring homes are left clean of debris after warranty calls.
  • Deescalating situations with dissatisfied homeowners.
  • Completing "Hot Checks" prior to final inspection and homeowner closing.
  • Energizing and deenergizing homes.
  • Confirming all equipment is properly installed and functional.
  • Troubleshooting faulty equipment, circuits, and breakers.
  • Communicating with service manager and supervisor regarding issues during "Hot Checks".
  • Ensuring the home is left in "move in" condition after "Hot Checks".
  • Completing Punch Lists, which are quality checklists of issues identified during walkthroughs.
  • Troubleshooting and reading blueprints/floor plans.
  • Communicating with the manager regarding any issues that arise during punch list completion.
