About The Position

The Electrical Technician is responsible for electrical, electronics, and maintenance of all equipment. Performs other duties as needed.

Requirements

• Industrial maintenance degree or similar from a state certified technical school or community college is required.
• Must have knowledge of basic industrial electrical components – relays, timers, contactors, proximity switches, etc.
• Must be able to read multimeters and amp meters.
• A background in industrial electronics and troubleshooting is required
• Basic computer knowledge
• Must have good communication skills
• Must be able and willing to work overtime, weekends and evenings as needed.
• Also must be able to work on-call as needed
• Must be able to read electrical schematics
• Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary
• Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions

Nice To Haves

• Completion of a 4-year electrical apprenticeship can be substituted
• Experience with PLC controls and variable speed drives is preferred
• The ability to read blueprints and mechanical drawings is a plus
• Can work with limited supervision (ie. night shift)

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of basic electrical/electronic equipment including motor start-stop circuits and 24V-700 V electrical circuits.
• Performs preventative maintenance (PM) of electrical and mechanical equipment
• Assist Parts Coordinator in the requisition and inventory of tools, spare parts and equipment.
• Assists Maintenance technician in the lubrication and repair of mechanical equipment
• Maintain all equipment in good running order
• Ensure that job site is clean and free of hazards
• Maintains good housekeeping and safety practices when running equipment
• Interacts and communicates with Production supervisor during shift and assist on production line when needed
• Maintains professional certifications and keeps updated on all procedures and policy changes; keeps training up to date
• Operates all maintenance equipment safely, follows LOTO procedures at all times.
