About The Position

The Service Supervisor role involves overseeing and directing service technicians to ensure effective equipment repair, installation, and maintenance, ultimately driving customer satisfaction. This position requires strong leadership to manage a team, recruit and train technicians, and maintain a high standard of service. The supervisor will also be responsible for managing departmental budgets, ensuring policy adherence, and overseeing the maintenance and administration of the service vehicle fleet. Collaboration with other department managers is key to achieving company and departmental goals.

Requirements

  • Five years in a Service Management related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or trade school.
  • Excellent leadership skills to enhance team productivity and standards of work produced.
  • Excellent computer skills: knowledge of and proficiency in common office applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; and strong conflict management skills.
  • Detail oriented and highly organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and background.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and directs service technicians in equipment repair, installation, start-up, and operation to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and oversees training for service technicians to meet workload demands and company/customer expectations.
  • Establishes and maintains a regular training program for service technicians on the latest service techniques and safety procedures.
  • Conducts group and one-on-one meetings with technicians for training, evaluation, and communication; participates in departmental safety/informational meetings.
  • Dispatches and assigns service calls and tickets to technicians based on territory, skill level, efficiency, and training requirements.
  • Participates in installations for new and existing clients, including commercial coffee/beverage equipment, vending machines, coolers, and freezers, and performs site inspections prior to installation.
  • Develops and monitors budgets, goals, and objectives to ensure departmental profitability.
  • Specifies and ensures timely ordering of required parts to meet work deadlines.
  • Ensures all company/department policies are followed by service technicians.
  • Oversees assigned service vehicles, monitors their maintenance and operation according to company policy.
  • Maintains the fleet of vehicles and ensures they are serviced as needed.
  • Assesses fleet requirements and completes administrative fleet duties, including license plate stickers, insurance, vehicle maintenance, and gas cards.
  • Keeps current on technician training and maintains training records to ensure personnel proficiency in preventive maintenance, start-up, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Works with other departmental managers to meet company and departmental goals and objectives.
  • Performs other tasks and responsibilities as required to maintain efficient department operations.
