About The Position

Levitt-Safety is looking for a hands-on technical leader to support and supervise field operations across Northern Ontario. This role blends advanced troubleshooting, commissioning, and system integration with team leadership - ideal for someone who still enjoys being on the tools while guiding others.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in fire alarm systems, with strong exposure to special hazards and releasing systems.
  • Hands-on experience with: Releasing control panels, Clean agent suppression integration, VESDA / air sampling systems, System commissioning and functional testing
  • Strong understanding of fire alarm logic, sequencing, and integrated system behavior.
  • Ability to lead in the field - formally or informally - by mentoring and supporting technicians.
  • Comfortable working in industrial, remote, and high-risk environments across Northern Ontario.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications are an asset (e.g., Canadian Fire Alarm Association, electrical, manufacturer training).

Responsibilities

  • Lead installation, programming, commissioning, and service of fire alarm releasing systems tied to special hazards suppression, including: Clean agent systems (e.g., FM-200, Novec), Pre-action and foam systems, Vehicle suppression systems, Aspirating smoke detection (VESDA)
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and diagnostics on integrated fire alarm and suppression systems.
  • Execute and verify cause-and-effect sequences, cross-zoning, and releasing logic.
  • Act as the on-site technical expert, supporting technicians and engaging directly with customers on complex issues.
  • Supervise and mentor field technicians, ensuring quality, safety, and technical excellence.
  • Coordinate job planning, materials, and field execution across multiple projects.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (ULC, National Fire Protection Association).
  • Complete and review service documentation, deficiencies, and system reports.
