About The Position

Common Ground is a student-run coffee shop that offers a variety of specialty coffees, iced drinks, bagels and cream cheese, delicious sandwiches and fresh baked goods. Common Ground prides itself on using fair-trade, organic coffee and many local products. As a Service Staff at Common Ground, you will act as a member of a large staff team, and will be required to fill the duties of your assigned station as well as the general duties of a Common Ground staff member while on shift. You will act as a representative of Common Ground Coffeehouse and the AMS for the duration of your term.

Responsibilities

Exhibit working knowledge of Health and Safety Standards with respect to commercial food preparation.
Attend all training sessions to become familiar with the department and adhere and its general operations.
Participate in the routine cleaning of the preparation and serving areas.
Assist the management team with catering orders and event preparation as needed when on shift.
Complete all assigned tasks efficiently and attentively when on shift.
Attend and fully participate in all in person and virtual meetings.
Respect and adhere to all company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
Maintain timely communication with your direct supervisor.
Strive to foster a warm, comfortable, and respectful atmosphere for customers and coworkers.
Always serve as a representative of the AMS and its mission statement.
Complete other duties as assigned.
