About The Position

This position involves completing work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources; collaborating with managers, co-workers, customers, and other business partners; identifying priorities, deadlines, and expectations; carrying out tasks; communicating progress and information; determining and recommending ways to address improvement opportunities; and adapting to and learning from change, difficulties, and feedback. The role also requires compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans, using the Open Door Policy, and applying these in executing business processes and practices. The technician will perform minor to intermediate inspections, repairs, and replacements on all Walmart equipment, including trailers, tractors, yard trucks, shop equipment, and service vehicles. This includes creating and processing work orders, performing minor diagnostics with technical and electronic equipment, assessing maintenance needs, identifying parts and solutions, conducting repairs, and performing tractor and minor trailer diagnostics of HVAC systems. Additionally, the role involves receiving fuel drops, conducting fuel sampling, and correctly identifying and performing warrantable repairs by entering accurate information into the maintenance system and processing warranty claims. Requirements

  • 2 years' experience in tractor and trailer inspection and repair OR a technical school degree, or certification in Heavy Duty Truck/Trailer Maintenance.
  • Valid state-issued driver's license.
  • Brake inspection qualified as defined in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations, Section 396.25.
  • Vehicle Inspection qualified as defined in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations, Section 396.19.

  • Monitors fuel drops, follows procedures for fuel additives, and monitors tank levels.
  • Collects and prepares fuel samples for analysis and shipping.
  • Completes appropriate paperwork for fuel drops and sampling.
  • Correctly identifies and performs warrantable repairs.
  • Enters accurate information on condition, cause, and correction into the maintenance system.
  • Completes warranty tags and ensures parts are retained according to warranty guidelines.
  • Creates and processes warranty claims to ensure proper credit is received.
  • Works as a team, builds strong and trusting relationships.
