Service Person-Sewing
About The Position
The Service/Sewing Department Associate will be responsible for moving around the warehouse to transport materials between departments. A primary duty is to support the sewing room by ensuring sewers have the necessary materials to maintain productivity. This role requires multitasking and the ability to adapt to changing tasks. Additional responsibilities include organizing shelves, preparing products for the next production stage, and learning sewing room operations, such as running a bartack and sewing machine. The ideal candidate is dependable, responsible, detail-oriented, thorough, and takes pride in their work.
Requirements
- Being able to perform repetitive tasks
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Strong sense of time organization and urgency with high attention to detail
- Must be able to read work orders
- Be able to read a tape measure and understand measurements
- Able to work independently and within a team
- Must be able and willing to learn different aspects in the sewing room
Responsibilities
- Maintains a clean, neat, and member-ready area.
- Running a bartack and sewing machine
- Keeping shelves organized
- Transport materials from one department to another throughout the warehouse
- Turning products
- Keeping sewing stations stocked
- Bringing new job material to sewers
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment using the “6-S” system: Sort, Set in order, Sustain, Shine, Standardize, Safety
