About The Position

This 12-week fellowship program, sponsored by Hiring Our Heroes, offers transitioning service members a unique opportunity to gain valuable professional experience. Fellows will collaborate with the Veterans Leadership Network and receive support from various stakeholders, including a dedicated buddy for guidance and mentorship, and a career development advisor. Fellows will be part of a cohort, engaging in weekly touchpoints, educational sessions, and receiving direction from the Veteran Talent Program Lead. The program aims to provide mentoring, networking, and exposure to facilitate a successful transition into a full-time position. Offensive Security Operations (OSO) is a global function responsible for validating enterprise security controls through adversary emulation and red team engagements, focusing on identifying real-world attack paths to measure risk and strengthen defenses. Fellows will support the planning and coordination of these activities, including tracking timelines, logistics, and developing reports. They will participate in team meetings and internal training to understand offensive security assessment processes. The role involves cross-functional collaboration with cybersecurity, infrastructure, cloud, and operational technology groups, and interaction with internal stakeholders and partner teams. Fellows will gain exposure to project management tools and processes in a fast-paced, results-driven environment. The fellowship includes progressive, hands-on training and project-based assignments under red team leadership, offering practical experience in offensive security operations and program execution. The fellowship project involves learning core tools, processes, and methodologies for planning, executing, and delivering adversary emulation and red team engagements, supporting critical activities to validate security controls and identify risk. The fellowship intends to develop an understanding of adversary emulation and red team methodologies, attack frameworks (e.g., MITRE ATT&CK), tools, platforms, and environments for offensive security operations, and to participate in project planning, execution tracking, and reporting. Fellows will engage with cross-functional teams to understand enterprise attack surfaces and risk.
