About The Position

The primary objective for this person is to have the ability to work on a variety of products, meeting quality and productivity goals within Manufacturing and Service environments. This person will work closely with fellow team members and management to achieve team performance goals for troubleshooting, testing, repairs, equipment maintenance and MRB evaluation services, meeting Quality and Productivity goals within manufacturing and service. This person will play a significant role in the areas of Efficiency, First Pass Yield, Hours Reporting Accuracy, Scrap, Inventory Accuracy, and Time Lost Accuracy. Goals will be set within each review period, and performance will be measured against them.

Requirements

Effective use of troubleshooting and measurement equipment like oscilloscopes, multi-meters, function generators, and custom test platforms
Understand wiring diagrams, schematics, assembly drawings, fab drawings, and mechanical component drawings
Document findings of investigation in quality notifications, which are part of official Device History Records.
Electronic and Mechanical assembly skills (Examples: soldering, crimping, box build, fiber handling, optical component handling, cable routing, use of RTV/epoxy)
Working knowledge of computers, word processing, and spreadsheet applications for documentation and data presentation.
Ability to read/modify test scripts
Ability to learn quickly and adapt to a variety of technologies that allow effective troubleshooting. Examples: Digital and Analog Electronics components, optical components, servo components, machined parts, sheet metal parts, cable assemblies
Good communication skills to be able to partner effectively with production techs, supervisors, training department, as well as Mfg./Design/Test Engineers.
A sense of urgency and Multi-tasking are essential to be able to support the production line effectively.
BS preferred, minimum High school diploma and AA or equivalent; minimum 5 years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be an Intuitive Tech 3 or Tech 4 in good standing for at least the past 12 months or as determined by the area Production Manager. Areas that will be considered are attendance, conduct, productivity, teamwork, and quality.
Must have good communication and documentation skills.
Prior team leadership demands
Experience in Just-In-Time, Demand flow technology, and Lean Manufacturing
Prior responsibility for process, equipment, or product validation/verification.
Hands-on assembly technician with proven ability to work well in a small team environment.
Must have problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Self-starter and motivated to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Ability to perform repetitive duties while standing/ sitting for long periods
Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices & Quality Systems Regulations is desirable.

Responsibilities

Assemble a variety of products according to standard work instructions and prints.
Operate and set up (as needed) production equipment/fixtures.
Become proficient at multiple assembly tasks while meeting requirements for workmanship, safety, and productivity.
Perform preparation work such as line clearance, setting up production boards, and setting up goals for each workstation.
Crosstrain or mentor others in areas of expertise (as needed).
Properly complete manufacturing documentation. Initiate basic material requests, report quality issues, report efficiency, and record measurements as needed. May report work order information into the computer.
Maintain the accuracy of identification and count of point-of-use materials. Accurately determine and report material shortages.
Work closely with Engineering and Quality to resolve production issues and actively participate in quality improvement initiatives.
Support various Lean Manufacturing initiatives that involve a manufacturing-based team.
Review and disposition of discrepant material. Implement corrective actions to prevent recurrences.
Evaluate designs for manufacturability (for tooling and assembly methods). Provide suggested change proposals or tooling concepts during the early design process phase to Engineering.
Follow all corporate, regulatory, safety, and production policies and procedures.
Maintain an excellent attendance record.
