About The Position

The Operations Technician I supports the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of U.S. Energy operations. This role assists with day to day operational activities by helping maintain equipment, facilities, and product flow while following established safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements. The Operations Technician I works collaboratively with operations team members, contractors, and drivers to support consistent operations, accurate inventory and documentation, and dependable service across U.S. Energy facilities and operating environments.

Requirements

  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Complete and maintain all employer-provided training, required certifications, and applicable state and federal regulatory requirements related to operations, including but not limited to HAZWOPER, DOT, and OSHA
  • Able to lift up to 75 lbs and occasionally push, pull or roll objects up to 350 lbs.
  • Work at heights up to 65 feet and ability to work outdoors in inclement weather
  • Able to operate equipment (forklifts, skid steer, tractor, lull) and power tools
  • Be able to tolerate and work in variable weather conditions, and work in dirty and dusty environments
  • Travel occasionally to other locations
  • Able to tolerate, at times, the smell of petroleum products and paint
  • Able to work overtime and weekends without much notice and be on an on-call rotation with other team members
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company driver policy requirements
  • Successfully pass a pre-employment drug test (do not test for THC / marijuana)

  • High mechanical background and/or mechanical aptitude
  • Construction, electrical, welding, terminal, or related background helpful
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Strong focus on problem solving skills
  • Proficient in computer skills and utilizing SharePoint
  • High scanning accuracy

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for various operational activities such as loading, unloading, transferring, gauging, blending, and sampling products across U.S. Energy operations in accordance with established procedures
  • Follow all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements to help prevent incidents, contamination, spills, and product loss
  • Support product quality and inventory accuracy by following sampling procedures and using internal inventory and tracking systems
  • Perform routine inspections of facilities, equipment, and operational areas on a scheduled basis and report observations as required
  • Assist with basic maintenance and housekeeping of facilities, grounds, and operational equipment to support safe and efficient operations
  • Receive, track, and enter operational documentation (e.g., tickets, bills of lading, inspection records) accurately and timely into designated systems
  • Support drivers, contractors, and visitors during operational activities by promoting safety, compliance, and adherence to site requirements
  • Assist with driver and contractor training activities, including online and site‑specific training, as assigned
  • Work collaboratively with team members to support daily operational needs and dependable service while maintaining a professional image
