About The Position

At MobilityWorks, the Service Mechanic repairs and maintains vehicles and related equipment, including custom modifications and service repairs that support accessible transportation. The position involves diagnosing maintenance issues, inspecting vehicles, conducting road tests, and operating specialized automotive repair equipment. Work is scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• General experience in automotive maintenance.
• Familiarity with brake and steering systems.
• Strong background in electrical systems and/or automotive wiring.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Proficiency in electronic troubleshooting and repair.
• Strong mechanical problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics and testing.
• Install and connect electrical wiring systems.
• Conduct functional tests on electrical systems, identify issues, and rectify them.
• Install electrical panels and other components in accordance with engineering specifications.
• Inspect work to ensure quality.
• Interpret schematics.
• Assess vehicle damage or malfunctions and provide repair recommendations, parts lists, and estimated repair times.
• Perform under-car, under-hood, and preventive maintenance inspections.
• Troubleshoot issues related to the work performed.
• Maintain and repair automotive and related equipment.
• Conduct vehicle inspections and road tests.
• Operate specialized equipment commonly used in the automotive repair industry.
