About The Position

At MobilityWorks, the Service Mechanic maintains and repairs automotive vehicles and related equipment, helping customers who depend on accessible transportation. The role includes diagnosing maintenance issues, inspecting vehicles, conducting road tests, operating specialized automotive repair equipment, and performing skilled mechanical and electrical work. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
General experience in automotive maintenance.
Familiarity with brake and steering systems.
Strong background in electrical systems and/or automotive wiring.
Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems.
Proficiency in electronic troubleshooting and repair.
Strong mechanical problem-solving skills.
Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate in a team environment.

Responsibilities

Perform diagnostics and testing.
Install and connect electrical wiring systems.
Conduct functional tests on electrical systems.
Identify and correct issues discovered during testing.
Install electrical panels and other components according to engineering specifications.
Inspect completed work to ensure quality.
Interpret schematics.
Assess vehicle damage or malfunctions and provide repair recommendations, parts lists, and estimated repair times.
Perform under-car, under-hood, and preventive maintenance inspections.
Troubleshoot issues related to work performed.
Maintain and repair automotive vehicles and related equipment.
Conduct vehicle inspections and road tests, and operate specialized automotive repair equipment.
