About The Position

Davis Brothers Heating, Cooling & Plumbing is seeking a Service Manager to lead their HVAC & Plumbing service team in Indiana, PA. This role is for an experienced individual who has a deep understanding of the trade, has unofficially led teams, and is ready for a formal leadership position with authority and accountability. The Service Manager will own the performance of the service team, focusing on technician productivity, smooth daily operations, customer treatment, and financial results. Requirements

  • 3–7+ years of experience in HVAC, plumbing, or service operations.
  • Direct, proven experience managing technicians or field teams.
  • Strong technical ability in HVAC and/or plumbing, with the capacity to diagnose, train, and set performance standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to train others and develop technical skill in a team.
  • Coachable – open to feedback and committed to personal leadership growth.
  • Demonstrated track record of improving team performance (KPIs, efficiency, revenue, or quality).
  • Strong communicator who is direct, clear, and consistent.
  • Comfortable having direct, honest conversations without sugarcoating or avoidance.
  • Takes ownership when things go wrong.
  • Energized by working with people striving for excellence.

Nice To Haves

  • Deep technical ability in HVAC and/or plumbing.
  • Experience leading technicians or field teams and measurably improving their performance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coach technicians in the field, providing real feedback and conducting ride-alongs.
  • Utilize technical depth to train the team, set standards, and earn respect.
  • Develop team members to improve their skills and performance.
  • Conduct direct and uncomfortable conversations to foster improvement.
  • Drive team performance by monitoring KPIs, identifying and fixing problems early, pushing high performers, and addressing underperformance.
  • Partner with dispatch to maintain a full schedule and efficient workflow.
  • Minimize callbacks by ensuring jobs are done right the first time.
  • Run effective team huddles and create sustainable processes.
  • Build a team that operates on systems rather than relying on individual heroics.
