About The Position

The Service Engineer is responsible for traveling to customer facilities to perform service-related tasks efficiently and professionally, ensuring customer satisfaction at all times. This role requires extensive travel, 80% or more, including domestic and international assignments to deliver exceptional on-site service and support. The engineer will be responsible for a variety of technical tasks including setting clearances, aligning machines, assembling and configuring machinery, diagnosing and replacing parts, dismantling and reassembling machines, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and maintaining accurate service records. The role also involves professional communication with customers, providing updates and technical guidance. The ability to lift and maneuver up to 50lbs is also required, along with any additional duties assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Any combination of education and/or experience providing the required skills and knowledge for successful job performance will be considered.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in machine building or field service; or another similar role

Responsibilities

  • Extensive travel required, 80% or more, including domestic and international assignments to deliver exceptional on-site service and support.
  • Accurately set specified clearances between moving and stationary parts to ensure optimal machine performance and safety.
  • Expertly align machines and equipment using precision tools and techniques to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Assemble, install, and configure complex machinery and equipment according to engineering specifications and customer requirements.
  • Arrange, mark, and drill mounting holes; modify components as needed to achieve proper fit and function.
  • Diagnose issues and replace defective parts promptly to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.
  • Safely dismantle machines for repair, maintenance, or relocation, and reassemble to factory standards.
  • Attach moving parts and subassemblies to basic assembly units, ensuring proper alignment and secure fastening.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on-site, providing effective solutions under time constraints.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, provide updates, technical guidance, and ensuring satisfaction throughout the service process.
  • Maintain accurate service records, including work performed, parts used, and recommendations for future maintenance.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50lbs
