About The Position

Reporting to the Manager, Mental Health and Addictions (MHA), the Service Coordinator is the senior administrative and financial support for Iqaluit Mental Health and Addictions (IMHA) programs and services. The Service Coordinator will be responsible for the coordination, administration, and financial organization of programs that IMHA delivers to provide Nunavummiut in Iqaluit based mental health clients receiving care Out-of-Territory (OOT). The Service Coordinator ensures that office activities and financial expenditures made by IMHA are thoroughly documented, tracked, and examined. This position is also responsible for providing expert guidance to IMHA management in terms of budget expenditures and financial processes.

Requirements

  • A recognized certificate in business administration or related field along with two (2) years of program coordination, financial administration, project management or a related experience.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check
  • Clear Vulnerable Sector Check

Nice To Haves

  • Fluency in more than one of Nunavut’s official languages
  • Knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land, Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, Inuktut
  • Experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring dedicated and detail-oriented oversight to the IMHA budget and expenditures;
  • Working closely with the IMHA team as well as the Department of Health (DOH) Finance section, and the Department of Finance (DOF) to ensure that all contracting and invoice payments are correctly completed;
  • Providing IMHA with active support in information inquiries related to policy, process, and procedures. as well as Government of Nunavut practices;
  • Liaising with Population Health, Health Promotions, Health Communications, and other groups, organizations, individuals, or other bodies as required;
  • Developing work orders, coversheets, contracts as well as overseeing Local Contract Authority (LCA) books, reviewing all invoices and monitoring the IMHA budget.
