About The Position

Laborde Products, a leading marine engine distributor with over 25 years of service, is seeking a Service Coordinator for its Covington, LA location. This role is crucial for enhancing the customer experience by managing the daily operations of the Service Department. The Service Coordinator will build relationships with customers and collaborate with the Service Manager to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction. The company operates across the Southeast, Great Lakes, and East Coast, featuring brands like Mitsubishi, Steyr Motors, Yanmar, and Scania Marine.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience working in the diesel engine, heavy equipment, or automotive industry preferred.
  • Experience in a parts department or familiarity with parts preferred.
  • Mechanical background preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate service requests from customers and create quotes and work orders.
  • Manage daily scheduling of service personnel.
  • Communicate with technicians and customers regarding scheduling, answer questions, respond to requests, and identify and implement solutions.
  • Monitor technician progress on service jobs and make necessary adjustments.
  • Advise technicians on proper actions concerning customer needs, parts availability, or any issues impacting service requests.
  • Coordinate with technicians and the Parts Team to ensure necessary parts are available for repairs.
  • Resolve customer issues by identifying and explaining solutions, taking appropriate action, and following up to ensure satisfaction.
  • Manage work in progress, service record keeping, CRM management, and departmental KPIs.
  • Approve Service Team payroll as needed.
  • Perform other duties as required by business needs.
