About The Position

The Service Clerk provides satisfactory service and assistance to guests by bagging groceries, carrying purchases to vehicles, retrieving and organizing shopping carts, completing bottle-related tasks, and performing janitorial duties as needed. The role helps ensure the shift contributes to the store’s financial interests and completes assigned duties in a timely manner. Associates may also be assigned tasks in other departments based on customer experience needs.

Requirements

• Good oral communication skills.
• Ability to interact politely and effectively with customers.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Use appropriate bagging supplies and techniques when handling guests’ purchases.
• Empty bottle bins and clean bottle machines and the bottle return area.
• Collect, return, clean, and organize shopping carts.
• Take groceries to customers’ vehicles and load them.
• Know the location of products carried in the store.
• Handle spoiled or damaged products according to established guidelines.
• Maintain a clean, attractive, and well-stocked department.
• Work independently of others.
• Perform cleaning duties and other assigned work in a timely manner.
• Follow PPE and safety guidelines.
• Follow food safety and cleaning expectations.
• Follow guest experience guidelines.
• Perform tasks in other departments when assigned based on customer experience needs.
• Complete other responsibilities as assigned.
