About The Position

This position plans, directs, and participates in the day-to-day operation, management, and maintenance of a small Salvation Army Service Center with limited social services and a Thrift Store operation.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Business or related field
  • Three years successful experience working in a retail field where producing and sustaining profit is a requirement, with at least one year experience in a supervisory capacity
  • Ability to become proficient in the social services functions of the job within the first 90 days of employment or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Valid state driver license.
  • Ability to meet attendance requirements.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
  • Ability to perform mathematical computations.

Responsibilities

  • Recruits and manages a limited staff and volunteer team.
  • Prepares bookkeeping, sales, statistics, and payroll records.
  • Participates in screening and providing services to clients.
  • Represents The Salvation Army in the community.
  • Monitors the receipt and processing of Thrift Store donations.
  • Ensures merchandise is properly priced and rotated in order to maximize store sales.
