The Service Associate is a hybrid branch position that combines the duties of a Customer Service Representative on the platform with those of a Teller at the teller line. The role is primarily based in designated traditional branch locations and divides time between platform and teller responsibilities; the balance may vary on occasion. In the account representative capacity, the associate works toward individual sales and service goals by opening deposit accounts, preparing and processing loan applications, closing applicable loans, making referrals, contacting high-value customers to retain and grow the portfolio, maintaining accounts, addressing service issues, and supporting quarterly sales goals. The associate is also responsible for operational compliance and following bank policy. In the teller capacity, the associate processes deposits, cashes checks, sells and records monetary instruments, files required government reports for qualifying cash transactions and monetary-instrument sales, handles foreign currency purchases and sales, and processes loan payments and credit card cash advances. Bank policies and procedures apply to all duties. The position requires independent work, multitasking in a fast-paced environment, professionalism, technical literacy, and effective communication and relationship-building. The associate should seek guidance from an immediate supervisor when written policy is unclear or there is uncertainty. Working conditions include extended periods in a stationary position with continuous customer contact and transporting items weighing 15 pounds or more. Eastern Bank describes itself as an inclusive employer that supports employee growth and offers a Total Rewards program including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, retirement, vacation, and tuition reimbursement.
