About The Position

First Merchants Bank is seeking a Service Associate (Teller) to provide high-quality customer service by accurately and efficiently completing bank transactions and recommending products and services that meet customers’ current and future financial needs. The position supports personal production goals while delivering a meaningful customer experience.

The role also contributes to banking center operations through cash and transaction balancing, compliance and security practices, and assistance with opening or closing the banking center. The Service Associate participates in a sales-focused environment by learning bank products, making referrals, and attending meetings and coaching sessions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 3 months of sales, cash handling, or related experience.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer requests for banking transactions.
• Answer customer inquiries and resolve problems with solutions that meet customers’ current needs.
• Build customer loyalty and customer advocates.
• Balance cash, daily transactions, the vault, and ATM.
• Understand and ensure compliance with regulations and reporting requirements.
• Follow information security policies and verification procedures to protect customer privacy.
• Assist with opening and/or closing the banking center.
• Sell bank products, make customer referrals, and perform other activities that support goals.
• Maintain knowledge of all bank products.
• Participate in daily or weekly meetings and coaching sessions.
