About The Position

First Merchants Bank is seeking a Service Associate (Teller) to provide high-quality customer service by accurately and efficiently completing bank transactions and recommending products and services that address customers’ current and future financial needs. The role supports personal production goals while delivering a meaningful customer experience.

The Service Associate responds to customer requests and inquiries, resolves problems with appropriate solutions, builds customer loyalty, and contributes to banking center operations. Responsibilities also include balancing cash and transactions, the vault and ATM; complying with regulations and reporting requirements; protecting customer privacy; and assisting with banking center opening or closing. The role participates in a sales environment through product sales, referrals, product knowledge, meetings, and coaching sessions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 3 months of sales, cash handling, or related experience.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer requests for banking transactions.
• Answer customer inquiries and resolve problems with solutions that meet customers’ current needs.
• Build customer loyalty and customer advocates.
• Balance cash, daily transactions, the vault, and ATM.
• Understand and ensure compliance with regulations and reporting requirements.
• Follow information security policies and verification procedures to protect customer privacy.
• Assist with opening and/or closing the banking center.
• Sell bank products, make customer referrals, and participate in other activities that support sales goals.
• Maintain knowledge of all bank products.
• Participate in daily and weekly meetings and coaching sessions.
