Service Assistant, Amici Italia (Part-Time; Varied)
About The Position
Provide excellent service to restaurant customers and restaurant Service Persons. This role involves interacting pleasantly with guests, completing various side-work requirements, maintaining a clean and organized environment, and ensuring a constant flow of dishes and supplies. The Service Assistant will assist Servers in table clearing, cleaning, and resetting, and accommodate guest needs and requests. They will also assist with delivering orders when possible, build relationships with customers, and adhere to appearance standards. Additionally, the role requires ensuring service recovery, handling money according to procedure, monitoring guest alcohol consumption, and following all relevant guidelines and policies.
Requirements
- Legible handwriting
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, or divide quickly and correctly
- Excellent customer service and communication skills required

- Neat, professional appearance with excellent personal hygiene
- Must be able to carry and balance food service tray
- Must be able to attend to multiple priorities simultaneously
- Must be able to be on feet for 8-hour shift
- Must be able to stoop, bend, reach, kneel, twist and grasp items
- Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Must be able to tolerate areas containing varying noise and temperature levels, illumination, vibration, crowds, and air quality including secondhand smoke
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Six months prior food service experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Interact pleasantly with guests when moving through the dining room
- Complete prep, running, and post shift side-work requirements
- Maintain a neat, clean, organized, safe and comfortable environment for our guests
- Responsible for maintaining required supply levels in the dining room and service kitchens
- Maintain a constant flow of soiled dishes to the kitchen and clean supplies to the dining room
- Assist Servers in clearing, cleaning and resetting tables
- Accommodate the needs and requests of any guest
- Assist servers with delivering orders to guests when possible
- Build relationships with customers
- Abide by appearance standards
- Delight our guests with outstanding service
- Ensure service recovery activities
- Handle money according to procedure
- Monitor guest consumption of alcohol and intervenes as needed according to guidelines
- Follow guidelines of the EBCI liquor laws as defined by the Tribal ABC Board
