About The Position

ChristianaCare is seeking a full-time Service Assistant III to replenish par-level supply areas and accurately pick and pack customer supply orders for delivery to hospital supply locations and off-site facilities. Work must meet departmental standards for safety, security, and efficiency. The role performs general warehouse activities, including loading, unloading, sorting, and moving products and materials manually and with material-handling equipment. The position works the evening shift from 5:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., every other weekend and every other holiday. It requires frequent lifting of supplies weighing up to 35 pounds and the ability to push a cart carrying a maximum of 250 pounds of stock supplies. The work environment includes unavoidable noise, dust, and dirt in a lively hospital setting. The starting rate is $18.57 per hour, regardless of prior experience. The rate automatically increases to $21.74 per hour after six months of continuous employment and to $22.79 per hour after one year of continuous employment.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
Frequent lifting of supplies weighing up to 35 pounds.
Ability to push a cart carrying a maximum of 250 pounds of stock supplies.

Nice To Haves

Three years of relevant experience in Material Distribution.
Valid driver's license.
One year of hospital experience.

Responsibilities

Inventory par-level areas using electronic handheld equipment, including iPad readers.
Restock and deliver supplies to par-level areas.
Maintain and arrange shelf items for maximum efficiency.
Remove debris and boxes from clean rooms.
Process requisitions in the PMM computer system.
Communicate stockouts, unit-of-measure discrepancies, and order problems to the Manager of Distribution.
Perform assigned work safely and follow departmental safety rules and practices.
Report unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations promptly to a supervisor.
Perform cycle counts and keep assigned shelf locations neat and orderly.
Assist patient care staff, when requested, with identifying supply needs and available alternatives.
Deliver STAT supply requests to user departments by cargo van efficiently and promptly.
Comply with ChristianaCare departmental policies and procedures, including those concerning safety, infection control, attendance, and dress code.
