About The Position

ChristianaCare is hiring a full-time Service Assistant III to replenish par-level supply areas and accurately pick, pack, and deliver customer supply orders to hospital locations and off-site facilities. The role performs warehouse activities, including loading, unloading, sorting, and moving products manually and with material-handling equipment, while meeting departmental standards for safety, security, and efficiency.

The position works an evening shift from 5:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., every other weekend and every other holiday. It requires frequent lifting of supplies up to 35 pounds and the ability to push a cart carrying up to 250 pounds of stock supplies. Work takes place in a lively hospital environment with unavoidable noise, dust, and dirt.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Frequent lifting of supplies up to 35 pounds.
• Ability to push a cart with up to 250 pounds of stock supplies.
• Three years of relevant Material Distribution experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.
• One year of hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inventory par-level areas using electronic handheld equipment, including iPad readers.
• Restock par-level areas and deliver supplies to them.
• Maintain and arrange shelf items for maximum efficiency.
• Remove debris and boxes from clean rooms.
• Process requisitions in the PMM computer system.
• Communicate stockouts, unit-of-measure discrepancies, and order problems to the Manager of Distribution.
• Perform assigned work safely and follow established departmental safety rules and practices.
• Promptly report unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, employees, patients, or visitors.
• Perform cycle counts and keep assigned shelf locations neat and orderly.
• Assist patient-care staff with identifying supply needs and available alternatives when requested.
• Deliver STAT supply requests to user departments by cargo van efficiently and promptly.
• Comply with ChristianaCare departmental policies and procedures, including those concerning safety, infection control, attendance, and dress code.
