About The Position

Responsible for the proper disposal of all waste materials and recyclable paper products throughout the printing facility. This role involves all activities associated with safely running the baler, including operation, cleanup, and recommending improvements to operations. The Material Handler will operate the baler efficiently, following all safety protocols, and safely operate standard warehouse equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks. They will also operate a hogger to process unusable paper and corrugated scrap, turn in maintenance work orders, and be proactive in equipment maintenance. Responsibilities include weighing and recording bales, maintaining inventories of supplies, hand-tying wax bales, and assisting in two-man feeds as necessary. Duties may be expanded upon and additional duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• Must maintain a current Fork Lift Operator License.
• Manufacturing experience in the corrugated industry preferred.
• Prior work experience as a forklift operator preferred.
• Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.
• Knowledge of equipment design and capabilities that can be translated into efficient operation.
• Read and interpret product layout and production specifications.

Responsibilities

• Operate the baler in an efficient manner following all safety protocols.
• Safely operate standard warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Operate hogger and hog up all unusable paper and corrugated scrap.
• Turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs.
• Be proactive in the maintenance of equipment.
• Weigh and record bales of product and keep accurate records of what is recycled.
• Maintain inventories of bailing wire, wax, and no wax tags, and scrap bales.
• Hand tied wax bales wires.
• Assist in two man feeds as necessary.
