About The Position

The Service and Maintenance Technician performs commission work on the ESS according to established processes. Technicians are assigned to a field location to modify and repair mechanical and electrical processes of the ESS, conduct commission work, and follow documentation pertaining to their assigned station within their department. This role involves assembling ESS stages, providing service and customer support during field visits, and troubleshooting, testing, and repairing equipment. The technician will diagnose errors and communicate with customers and the team to find solutions, read schematics, and use various tools for installations and repairs. They will also demonstrate attention to detail, gather and analyze information skillfully, communicate progress, balance team and individual responsibilities, adapt to changes, follow instructions, display accuracy and thoroughness, and uphold organizational values. Proper use of PPE and adherence to safety procedures are essential.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Regularly required to work outdoors.
  • Regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Assembles each stage of ESS according to processes.
  • Provide service and customer support during field visits.
  • Troubleshoot, test, repair, and service equipment.
  • Diagnose errors and communicate with customers and team to determine appropriate solution.
  • Reads schematics.
  • Uses measuring tape, levels, squares for installations based on Engineering documentation.
  • Uses standard hand tools where applicable.
  • Uses power tools such as electric and pneumatic tools where applicable.
  • Uses multiple meters.
  • Drilling and handling of material such as (fiberglass, plastics composites and aluminum).
  • Installation and removal of fasteners such as nuts, bolts and rivets.
  • Occasionally apply adhesives and sealants to ESS processes.
  • Install and repair of cooling system.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail.
  • Demonstrates required skills.
  • Gathers and analyzes information skillfully.
  • Communicates changes and progress.
  • Balances team and individual responsibilities.
  • Adapts to changes in the work environment.
