Service and Maintenance Technician - Tulare/Kern County
About The Position
The ESS Service and Maintenance Technician performs commission work on the ESS according to established processes. Technicians are assigned to a field location where they modify and repair mechanical and electrical processes of the ESS, conduct commission work, and follow documentation pertaining to their assigned station within their department. This role requires the ability to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service equipment, diagnose errors, and communicate effectively with customers and the team to determine appropriate solutions. The technician will read schematics, use measuring tools, hand tools, and power tools for installations, and handle various materials. Responsibilities also include installing and repairing cooling systems, demonstrating attention to detail, gathering and analyzing information skillfully, communicating changes and progress, adapting to the work environment, following instructions, and upholding organizational values. Proper use of PPE and adherence to safety procedures are essential.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service equipment.
- Ability to diagnose errors and communicate with customers and team to determine appropriate solution.
- Ability to read schematics.
- Ability to use measuring tape, levels, squares for installations based on Engineering documentation.
- Ability to use standard hand tools where applicable.
- Ability to use power tools such as electric and pneumatic tools where applicable.
- Ability to use multiple meters.
- Ability to drill and handle material such as (fiberglass, plastics composites and aluminum).
- Ability to install and remove fasteners such as nuts, bolts and rivets.
- Ability to occasionally apply adhesives and sealants to ESS processes.
- Ability to install and repair of cooling system.
- Demonstrates attention to detail.
