About The Position

We are seeking a customer-focused, organized, and energetic Service Advisor to join our dynamic dealership team. As the first point of contact for service customers, this role is crucial in delivering a smooth, professional, and friendly experience from check-in to pick-up. The Service Advisor will guide customers through a 5-star service experience, which includes ascertaining auto services by listening to customer descriptions of symptoms, clarifying problems, conducting inspections, taking test drives, checking vehicle maintenance records, and examining service schedules. Responsibilities also involve verifying warranty and service contract coverage, developing estimates for materials, supplies, and labor, and preparing repair orders. The advisor will maintain customer rapport by explaining estimates, obtaining approvals, providing contact information, answering questions, and arranging towing or temporary transportation. Accurate record-keeping and updating job knowledge through educational opportunities and manufacturer publications are also key aspects of the role.

Requirements

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Minimum 1 - 2 years in a customer service role
  • Valid G Drivers License
  • Able to work flexible hours within our business hours including Saturdays

Responsibilities

  • Ascertain auto services by listening to customer's description of symptoms; clarifying the description of problems; conducting inspections; taking test drives; checking vehicle maintenance records; examining service schedules
  • Verify warranty and service contract coverage by examining records and papers; explaining provisions and exclusions
  • Develop estimates by costing materials, supplies, and labour; calculating customer's payment, including deductibles
  • Prepare repair orders (RO) by describing symptoms, problems, and causes discovered, as well as repairs and services required; obtaining approval signatures; entering RO into service database system
  • Maintain customer rapport by explaining estimates and expected return of vehicle; obtaining customer's approval of estimates; obtaining and providing contact telephone numbers; answering questions and concerns; arranging towing and temporary transportation
  • Maintain accurate records by recording problems and corrective actions planned
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading manufacturers' publications
  • Other duties as assigned
