Responsibilities

  • Greet customers upon arrival in the maintenance area.
  • Listen attentively to customer vehicle concerns and conduct thorough inspections.
  • Proactively check for recalls and retrieve crucial vehicle information.
  • Maintain customer rapport by explaining estimates and providing daily updates.
  • Submit documentation for warranty repair orders.
  • Handle customer relations on a per-need basis.
  • Verify warranty and service contract coverage.
  • Prepare detailed repair orders.
  • Obtain necessary approvals.
  • Monitor repair work to ensure timely completion.
  • Review completed jobs, collect payments, and efficiently close out service orders.
  • Ascertain vehicle problems and services by listening to customer’s description of symptoms.
  • Clarify description of problems.
  • Check vehicle maintenance records.
  • Examine service schedules.
  • Call customer when job is complete and truck is ready for pick up.
  • Establish good customer relations by providing estimates and timelines.
  • Administrative duties on per-need basis.
  • Verify warranty and service contract coverage by examining records and papers.
  • Explain provisions and exclusions.
  • Prepare repair orders (RO) by describing symptoms, problems and causes discovered as well as repairs and service required.
  • Obtain approval signatures.
  • Enter RO into service database system and send to Estimator and Dispatcher.
  • Monitor repair work to ensure vehicle will be ready when promised.
  • Print warranty.
  • Print repair orders.
  • Issue sublet purchase order numbers.
  • Review jobs when completed.
  • Collect payment from jobs.
  • Close jobs.
