About The Position

The Server welcomes residents and helps create a warm, engaging dining experience. The role includes greeting residents, being present and sociable in the dining room, and fostering opportunities for residents to connect. Servers prepare tables and food items for service, roll silverware, bus tables, and sweep floors. They also communicate with supervisors and Wellness staff when residents show poor dietary habits, unusual appetite changes, or are absent from meals.

This part-time position is at Rushwood in Wichita, Kansas. The schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Pay is $16 to $19.50 per hour.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Must read, write, understand, and communicate in English at a minimum of 8th-grade proficiency.
• Must have a positive, energetic attitude and enjoy working with residents.
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and stoop throughout the day.
• Must be able to frequently lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Must be criminally cleared.

Responsibilities

• Greet residents, help them feel welcome, and foster a friendly dining-room environment where they can connect.
• Be present in the dining room, mingle, and entertain residents.
• Prepare tables and food items such as salads for service, and roll silverware.
• Bus tables and sweep floors.
• Notify supervisors and Wellness staff about poor dietary habits, unusual appetite changes, or residents absent from meals.
• Assist residents with sitting, standing, and walking, and assist persons after a fall.
