About The Position
Arrow Senior Living is seeking a Server to join our team at Barrymore located at 8400 N Marston Ave, Kansas City, MO 64154. This part-time position involves creating a welcoming environment for residents, preparing for meal service, maintaining cleanliness, and observing resident dining habits. The role requires a positive and energetic attitude, the ability to communicate effectively in English, and physical stamina for standing, walking, bending, and lifting. You will be responsible for greeting residents, mingling in the dining room, preparing tables and food items, bussing tables, sweeping floors, and reporting any changes in resident appetite or behavior to supervisors and Wellness staff.
Requirements
- Must be at least sixteen (16) years of age.
- Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English at a minimum of 8th grade proficiency.
- Positive and energetic attitude.
- Must be active as this role requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping all day.
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to assist residents with sitting, standing, and walking.
- Ability to assist persons after a fall.
- Must be criminally cleared.
Responsibilities
- Greet residents and make them feel welcome.
- Be present in the dining room, mingle, and entertain.
- Foster an environment where residents can connect.
- Prepare tables for service, salads for the next meal, and roll silverware.
- Understand that successful meal service requires preparation.
- Bus tables and sweep floors.
- Communicate with supervisors and Wellness when poor dietary habits or unusual changes in appetite are observed.
- Report when residents are absent from meals.
